Still feeling down?
Some women who have been treated for ovarian cancer will unfortunately find themselves feeling very anxious or depressed and will need some professional assistance in coming out of this. You will get better but you will need help. No one comes out of depression totally alone. Counselling or psychotherapy can help you. You should be able to access these services either from the hospital that treated you - your specialist nurse would be the best point of contact, or via your GP. Different areas in the UK offer different services to women affected in this way. Do ask to see what can be accessed locally.
We now live in an age when it is widely known that people recovering from cancer may become depressed. For women living with ovarian cancer and the radical treatments this has involved, it is little wonder that this has made an impact that may have knocked their confidence and self esteem.
If you are not able to access such services locally then the links on the right hand side of this page may be of use.
