'Let's Talk' Ovarian Cancer

Are you considering using your experience of ovarian cancer to help other women learn more about symptoms?

Target Ovarian Cancer is passionate that all women have the opportunity to learn the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer. If you share our enthusiasm and would like to use your unique experience to educate and empower women in your local community and beyond then we have developed the ‘Let’s Talk’ guide to raising awareness to get you started:

The ‘Let’s Talk’ booklet - a complete guide to raising awareness.

Packed with ideas from arranging a coffee morning with friends to contacting your local MP, ‘Let’s Talk’ has it covered. We have included in the booklet plenty of hints and tips from Ruth and Lindy, ladies who have themselves been diagnosed with ovarian cancer and have used their own experiences to generate more awareness of the disease. There are also some ideas from Lynn Holmes a gynae cancer specialist nurse and Mr David Poole a Consultant Gynaecologist who have both helped to raise awareness of ovarian cancer symptoms in their local communities.

The ‘Let’s Talk’ booklet can be used as a stand-alone resource or can support our ‘Let’s Talk’ awareness days.

The Let’s Talk awareness day – we invite individuals to attend awareness days at locations throughout the UK. You will gain new hints and tips for raising awareness in your local community and also advice on to talk about symptoms to others. Each individual will view their ovarian cancer experience in their own way; ‘Let’s Talk’ will encourage your personality and voice to shine through.

Who is 'Let's Talk' for?

‘Let’s Talk’ is suitable for both novice and experienced awareness raisers, whether you are organising your first awareness raising activity or are looking for ideas to develop the work you have been doing so far, the booklet should help get your creative juices flowing - the possibilities are endless. Above all ‘Let’s Talk’ is designed to nurture your natural talent.

Individuals who have participated in previous events include ovarian cancer survivors, family members, friends and health professionals.
